ACE English Studies & Homestay

The sole immersion program was developed to strengthen students' English, by immersing them into an American family. Students are given the opportunity to participate in everyday American life while learning the English language, culture, and traditions of a typical American household.

 

Each sole immersion family is carefully selected by the directors of ACE. Each family is unique, however, we select families on one similarity, their desire to make a student a part of their family and the family's everyday activities. Our Host families are committed to making the student have the best experience possible. Below, you will find videos that offer insight into activities of one of our sole immersion host families and their students.

 

Watching and hearing language used in real-life situations, such as, a student playing baseball with his/her host family, is the most immediate and transferable way to acquire a language and retain it. Sole immersion students gain real-life experience in speaking English with host families that traditional language learning environments may not teach. 

 

Students in immersion programs have participated in many activities with their individual families. Listed below are a few examples of activities sole immersion students have had the opportunity to participate in.

 

• Glow in the dark bowling

• Shopping at the outlet malls

• Professional baseball game

• Kayaking, surfing, paddle boarding 

• Family sports activities and/or attending family members' games

• Local trips to Los Angeles, San Diego, etc. 

• Youth groups 

• Dances
